If you feel that England is getting smaller, noisier and more crowded every day, you’ll appreciate the contrast that’s available to you on the Costa Blanca. For simply “getting away from it all” for a memorable holiday, you couldn’t make a better choice.

Scenery

The coastline stretches 130 miles all the way from Valencia in the north to Alicante in the south. As its name implies, the White Coast offers clean and sandy beaches, but there’s more than just the coast. The scenery varies dramatically from the beautiful shining beaches of resorts like Denia, Javea, Benidorm and Alicante, across green and fertile valleys of orange, lemon, olive and almond groves to the majestic grandeur of the mountains. The village of Orba lies in just such a valley and the residence of Orbeta rises up above Orba to give spectacular views over the village to the mountains beyond.

 Climate

The climate on the Costa Blanca is one of the best in Europe. Indeed, the World Health Organization has described the area of Denia to be “environmentally near perfect”, so this is the ideal location for a happy and healthy holiday for all the family. The sun shines on average 10 hours a day for over 300 days of the year and the winters are mild - you can hand-pick oranges from Christmas through to March and the almond trees are in full blossom by the end of January - making this the perfect choice for a winter break or an extended winter holiday to escape the British weather.

Activities and Relaxation

There are plenty of opportunities to relax and meet people in this part of the world. Available sporting activities include golf (La Sella, an 18-hole course just before Denia), tennis, bowling and shooting, or maybe you will just be attracted by the splendid countryside itself, which you can explore by car, by bike, on foot or on horseback. Country walks are advertised regularly in the local paper and there are many good local riding schools and stables. Needless to say, there are wonderful mountain walks too. All this is in addition to the superb beaches along the Costa Blanca, especially at Benidorm, where you can enjoy windsurfing, sailing, diving, swimming etc.

Further information on the area can be obtained from the Spanish National Tourist Office, London, the Valencia Tourist Site or the Costa Blanca Tourist Site or, when you arrive, from the tourist information centre in Denia, where the staff speak English and are very helpful.
